CFDD began in 1923 as a Credit Women’s Group. Over the next 50 years various Credit Women Groups were formed in various parts of the country. In the 70’s men in the credit profession began to express an interest in joining the organization and partaking of the benefits offered, so with this evolution and the dynamic changes taking place, in 1988 a petition was presented to the NACM- National Board of Directors requesting divisional status. This request was granted and led to the formation of today’s CFDD.
Today, our organization encompasses credit professionals in 19 chapters located throughout the United States. We remain a division of the National Association of Credit Management and are committed to helping credit professionals develop the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in an ever-changing environment. As with our founding organization, we do so with local, regional and national conferences and scholarships.
We have seen our membership numbers decrease across the country over the last few years and are faced with a challenge to help our existing members and those we are inviting to join, understand WHY CFDD and NACM are such a valuable resource and worth their company’s investment. Because they can’t have a membership in CFDD without being a member of NACM first, it’s also important we talk about the value of both memberships. We are a partnership and together we can accomplish great things! The CFDD Phoenix Chapter has been committed to helping credit and financial professionals develop the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in an ever-changing environment since 1995. Our chapter provides monthly meetings on topics of interest to the credit and financial professional as well as seminars and workshops. Personal contact with other credit and financial professionals as well as Mentor/Mentee opportunities aid in problem solving and sharing of experiences. Growth is made available through the chance to serve on committees and boards strengthening leadership and personal skills.
